Helicopter Pilot Training

Using our contacts with the North Sea Operators, your dream as a helicopter pilot could come true.

Helicopter over the city

Flying helicopters for a living is very demanding but also a lot of fun. There are many different opportunities in the helicopter world, from air ambulance between the highlands and islands, working from the oil rigs, flying for the Police, crop spraying, aerial photography, air charter or taxi, pleasure flights or search and rescue. The variety and possibilities are endless.

To become a commercial helicopter pilot you will need to obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter) – CPL(H) – or the more advanced Airline Transport Pilot (Helicopter) Licence – ATPL(H), which is necessary for piloting multi-crew helicopters. As in airline pilot training, there are two basic training routes - Modular and Integrated.

Teach others to fly There is also the option of teaching others to fly a helicopter by becoming a flying instructor. This can prove to be a most rewarding profession.
