New Helicopter Simulator for Cabair College of Air Training (CCAT) at Cranfield

This Summer CCAT is taking delivery of a new B206 FNPT II (JAA) Helicopter Simulator. The Sim will replicate both the Bell 206 and AS 355 types.

This new addition to CCAT's ever increasing fleet of synthetic training devices will feature in both the CPL(H) and IR(H) courses which are currently offered on a Modular or fully Integrated basis.

It is a professional training simulator with a complete cockpit enclosure representative of the model Bell 206 dimensions. The cockpit provides realistic flight controls for the pilot and co-pilot positions that closely replicate those in the actual aircraft. The system provides realistic instrumentation, switches, fuses and knobs representative of the aircraft instrument panel, a visual 170°x75° FOV out-of-cockpit display for simulated flight manoeuvres, and a sound system for representative helicopter sounds. The trainer configuration supports the conduct of ground start, run-up, and shutdown procedures, to include ground emergencies. The main feature however is the devices capability to support in flight manoeuvres in VFR and IFR conditions as well as flight emergency procedure training, along with all FNPT II requirements and much more.

Arrival of the new sim should coincide with CCAT moving to brand new premises located along side the airfield. This new Centre will house the administration and simulators, and omce up and running an open day is planned. Watch our news board on www.cabair.com for latest details.

Cabair launches new base on the Space Coast

Space Coast Aviation Inc is the new Cabair facility on Merritt Island Florida. We will be operating this airport - known as Cocoa Beach International (COI) - as an FBO - offering training, aircraft rental and the usual FBO services.

Merritt Island Airport is a stunning location and is very popular with sea plane pilots.

Cabair At Aeroexpo 2008

This event will showcase ALL sections of the market, including the latest Aircraft available - from light aircraft, or Pistons and Turboprops from all the major manufacturers, to Gliders and Power Gliders; AeroExpo has them covered.

Cabair Flying Schools and Cabair Modular are holding Pilot Training Seminars at Wycombe Air Centre for both budding and existing pilots wanting to gain more experience or train for a commercial licence.

Private Pilot Seminars will be held each day - Friday, Saturday and Sunday and are aimed at those interested in learning to fly. A Modular Commercial Training Seminar will be held on saturday 14th June and is aimed at those wishing to become a commercial pilot.
