CPLH Skill Test Training

The Skill Test course is of 30 hours duration, with a two hour allowance added to cover the final Skill Test, all conducted on Robinson R-22B. Initial training prepares the student to the required standards in General Handling, Instrument Flying and Visual/Instrument Navigation. The last 10 hours of the course is spent practising full Skill Test profiles covering the full JAA syllabus. The final CPL Skill Test is conducted by a JAA Authorised Flight Examiner, from Cranfield Airport.

Multi-Engine Instrument Rating Skill Test Training

Before commencing this course, the student must have passed all the theoretical knowledge examinations, the CPL(H) Skill Test and hold a Multi Engine Type Rating. The Instrument Rating (IR) Skill Test Course is of 50 hour duration with an additional two hour allowance to cover the final Skill Test.

The first 25 hours are completed on Robinson R-22B, fitted with Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI), Radio Magnetic Indicator (RMI) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME). 10 hours of FNPT1 Simulator training in en-route, holding pattern and approach procedures is integrated with the early flying. This provides the ideal preparation for the final 15 hours, flown on the Multi Engine Aerospatiale AS355F Twin Squirrel, of IR Skill Test route profiles.

On completion of the course, the student is presented for the IR Skill Test conducted by a JAA Flight Examiner, from Cranfield Airport.
