Aviation Studies for Commercial Pilot Training FdEng : UCAS Code : H460
Qualification/Level: FdEng + optional BSc(Hons) top-up
Mode of study: Full Time Duration: 2 Years Location: EPTA Bournemouth

Here is a new and exciting programme which allows students to obtain a recognised UK Foundation Degree and qualify for a full frozen Air Transport Pilot’s Licence (ATPL) - the licence required to fly a modern airliner. With one extra year, it is also possible to top up the foundation course and complete a BSc (Hons) in Aviation Studies. This innovative programme provides students with the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge of the operations and management of the air transport industry, while also benefiting from the practical skills and theoretical knowledge derived from pilot training.

The degree course is designed to provide you with a broad base of knowledge and help you gain employment within aviation, in particular, the airline industry. It also aims to provide not only a suitable progression route to an honours degree programme, but the educational base for commercial pilot programmes and the opportunity to enter a life-long learning curve of achievement.

Graduates from the foundation degree may enter the final year of the BSc (Hons) in Aviation Studies. This programme is delivered at Kingston and is available in a one year full time or two year part time mode. Subjects covered will include aerospace technology, aircraft maintenance and logistics, business applications, air transport economics and various individual and group projects. More...
