ATPL ONLINE: JAR Question Bank

Practice JAA ATPL theory examinations online at www.cabairatpl.com

ATPL ONLIN FlexiBank

Cabair’s ATPL Online Flexi Bank will enhance your learning and revision of the 14 ATPL Theoretical Knowledge subjects as well as enabling you to practice the JAA exams under simulated exam conditions. We have named it FlexiBank for reasons that will become very clear when you start to use it. For as little as £5 students can access Cabair’s huge database of over 7,500 multiple choice JAA exam questions which they have collected and collated over the years since the JAA exam system began. It accurately replicates the official JAA Central Question Bank and supplements any approved training course.

For each subject you purchase you have complete control over which questions you answer enabling you to match them to your learning or revision requirements. You may choose questions covering a range of topics, or select questions covering just one specific topic.

For further information and to have a free test-drive of the FlexiBank visit the web site here.

Pilot Assessment

For those of you considering becoming an airline pilot, you will no doubt have quickly realised that the required training can be expensive. Expensive for the future pilot and his/her family - thanks to the effective cessation of traditional airline sponsorship - and expensive for the airlines if excess training is needed when candidates undergo type rating and airline specific training.

Entry standards for commercial training are not formalised and there is no official requirement for any prior assessment of the flying aptitude of trainees apart from meeting the appropriate JAA Class1 medical standards. The risk to both students and Flight Training Organisations (FTOs) can be significant, and it is clearly preferable that any potential risk be identified before any serious investment is made. Cabair recommend that anyone considering airline pilot training should go through an aptitude assessment before commencing training.

These Assessment and Selection Services are available for Cabair Students who are training on Modular courses. They are also available for students who are on the degree courses with commercial pilot training. For further information, contact Cabair Modular at Bournemouth:

English Language Training

Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers and all others who use English in R/T communication on international routes must reach ICAO English Language Level 4 (Operational) by March 2008 - confirmed by successful completion of an ICAO-approved proficiency test. Furthermore, those who pass the test at Level 4 must be re-tested every three years. Those who fail may no longer be licensed to operate on international routes.

Cabair Career Services has teamed up with Anglo-Continental - an accredited English language teaching organisation, founded in 1950, who have been teaching English for Aviation - particularly for Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers - since 1971.

At its training centre in Bournemouth, England, the Anglo-Continental Aviation English Division provides intensive English Language courses to meet this need. For safety in flight operations, pilots and controllers must have a command of general English combined with specialised language and R/T communication skills at a High Intermediate standard - but many are currently well below that level. Anglo-Continental provides comprehensive training at all levels of the ICAO scale. Aviation personnel at ICAO Level 5 (Extended) must be re-tested every six years, while those at Level 6 (Expert) are not required to take any further tests. The Aviation English Division provides courses for specialists at these levels, if and when required, by special arrangement.

For further information about these courses, contact Anglo-Continental here and be sure to mention that you were referred by Cabair.
